Real Change Happens When Therapy Includes Both Mind and Nervous System

Online somatic therapy services for adults in West Palm Beach, FL.

You’ve been holding a lot together for a long time. From the outside, life may look steady, but internally you may be noticing more tension, more emotional weight, or changes in how your body responds to stress.

Sometimes this shows up as feeling more reactive or shut down. Other times it’s physical. Fatigue, tightness, or a sense that your system just doesn’t bounce back the way it used to.

You may have done meaningful work on yourself already. You understand a lot about where your patterns come from, and yet something still feels unresolved or unfinished.

As a somatic therapist in West Palm Beach, I work with adults who are ready to move beyond insight alone and into a more experiential process. Many people arrive already sensing that real change will involve working with the body, not just talking through things.

Somatic therapy brings your mind, emotions, and body into the work together. We slow down enough to notice what your nervous system has been carrying and begin building capacity in a way that feels grounded and sustainable.

This is steady, relational work that supports deeper regulation, more choice in how you respond, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself.

When You’ve Been Holding It Together For A While

Somatic therapy that helps you slow down and reconnect with yourself

You may be used to showing up, managing responsibilities, and keeping life moving forward. Somatic therapy offers a different pace, one that makes space for emotional depth and the body to be part of the work too.

Sessions often move between talking and slowing down together to notice what is happening in your body and emotional experience in real time, sometimes through somatic practices and other times by simply staying present with the felt sense of the moment.

Over time, many people notice shifts such as:

• Feeling less pressure to push through everything alone
• Recognizing when their system needs rest or support
• Experiencing more ease in their body during daily life
• Responding with more choice instead of default habits place where you can

About Me

Hi, I am Amy.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional offering online therapy for adults in West Palm Beach and throughout Florida.

Earlier in my life, I spent many years in talk therapy. It was helpful in some ways, but only went so far for my mental health. Things began to shift more deeply when my body was included in the healing work.

Because of that experience, I am especially drawn to working with thoughtful adults who sense that what they are carrying lives in their body and nervous system as much as in their thoughts. Together we make space to listen to those patterns and support change at a pace that feels workable for you.

If you are in West Palm Beach or anywhere in Florida, I would be honored to support you.

What is Somatic Therapy?

Soma means body. Somatic therapy invites the body into the healing process because our thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and lived experiences influence one another. The nervous system carries the impact of stress and relationships, and working with both mind and body creates space for deeper change.

During sessions, we include your thoughts, emotions, and bodily experience. We track fight, flight, freeze, and shutdown responses as they emerge, gently supporting your system in moving toward greater stability and resilience. As you speak, I may ask what you’re noticing internally so we stay connected to what is unfolding right now.

At times the work is slow and inward. At other moments we may explore small somatic practices that support your nervous system as it shifts and reorganizes. These experiences help your body learn something different while you stay present and supported.

Somatic Experiencing (SE) guides this work. When helpful, the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) or Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) may also be included as additional supports.

• Living with ongoing physical symptoms such as fatigue, tension, digestive issues, or chronic pain
• Feeling that insight alone hasn’t created lasting change
• Sensing that old ways of coping are no longer enough
• Wanting therapy that includes both mind and body

Integrative Support for Your Daily Life

Somatic therapy is the foundation of my work, and I also bring an integrative mental health lens to our sessions. This means we may consider how factors like sleep quality, nourishment, movement, stress load, and environment are shaping your nervous system and emotional resilience.

Rather than separating mental health from physical well-being, we look at how they interact. Sometimes that includes identifying patterns that may be contributing to fatigue, tension, or ongoing stress responses.

When appropriate, I may recommend additional resources or referrals to trusted integrative or wellness professionals who can support this broader picture.

We include these pieces because they shape how you feel, think, and move through your life every day.
