Support That Includes Both Mind and Body, Not Just Insight
Online somatic therapy services for adults in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
If you’re holding it together on the outside but noticing more strain in your emotional life and in your body underneath, you may be starting to wonder why things haven’t shifted despite everything you’ve tried.
Stress and past experiences often show up through the body, shaping how you react, relate, and move through daily life.
You might notice tension that never fully settles, emotional reactions that feel bigger than you expect, or moments where you shut down even when part of you wants to stay present.
You might have tried to figure it out, talked it through, or worked on yourself in different ways, and still feel like nothing is really shifting.
As a somatic therapist in Fort lauderdale, I work with adults who sense that real change will involve more than talking through things. Many clients come in already knowing they want to include the body in their healing and are ready for a deeper, more experiential process.
Somatic therapy brings your mind, emotions, and body into the work together, allowing us to notice what has been happening beneath the surface.
We slow down enough to understand what your nervous system has been carrying and begin building capacity in a way that feels steady and supportive.
This is relational work that helps you move forward with more clarity, resilience, and connection.
When Holding It Together is Feeling Like Too Much
Somatic therapy that supports both emotional depth and the body
You may have spent a long time managing, adapting, or pushing through. Somatic therapy creates space to slow down and include what your body and emotional life have been carrying, not just what you can explain with words.
Sessions often move between conversation and slowing down together to notice what is happening in your body and emotional experience in real time, sometimes through somatic practices and other times by simply staying present with the felt sense of the moment.
Over time, many people notice shifts such as:
• Feeling less pulled into automatic stress responses
• Recognizing tension or overwhelm earlier
• Experiencing more steadiness in their body
• Responding with greater flexibility instead of reacting from old patterns
About Me
Hi, I’m Amy.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional offering online therapy for adults in Fort Lauderdale and across Florida.
Many years ago, somatic therapy became an important part of my own healing. Once my body was included in the process, my mental health began to feel more stable, and my relationships felt safer and less driven by old patterns.
Because of that experience, I am especially drawn to working with thoughtful adults who can feel that their body and nervous system are still carrying more than talking alone has been able to reach. I offer a steady, collaborative space to explore this together at a pace that feels workable for you.
What You Might Be Going Through
You may recognize parts of yourself in more than one of these areas.
Some people arrive feeling anxious or overwhelmed. Others notice old patterns or deeper emotional pain becoming harder to ignore, even when life looks steady from the outside.

What is Somatic Therapy?
Soma means body. Somatic therapy brings the body into the therapeutic process because thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and life experiences are deeply connected. What happens in the mind affects the body, and what the body senses influences how we respond to stress and relationships. Working with both allows change to unfold in a more integrated way.
In sessions, there is room for your thoughts, emotions, and nervous system. We stay attuned to your fight, flight, freeze, and shutdown responses as they arise, supporting your system in moving toward a greater sense of felt safety. As you share something meaningful, I may invite you to notice what’s happening inside your body so we stay connected to the present moment.
Some sessions feel quiet and inward. Other times we may gently engage small somatic practices that help your nervous system shift and settle. These moments allow your body to experience something new while you remain present and supported.
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is the foundation of my work. When appropriate, we may also integrate the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) or the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) as additional nervous system supports.

Integrative Mental Health Support
In addition to somatic therapy, I’m a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. This allows us to look at how lifestyle and health factors may be affecting anxiety, stress, and nervous system regulation.
We may explore areas such as sleep patterns, daily rhythm, movement, nutrition, and light exposure, noticing where small changes could support the work you’re already doing in therapy.
If needed, I can connect you with trusted integrative practitioners, dietitians, or other wellness providers who align with this mind-body approach.
The intention is to support mental health in a way that reflects the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
