You’ve Been Holding It All Together—But You’re Starting to Feel the Cost

Somatic Therapy in Fort Lauderdale – Mind-Body Support for Stress, Disconnection, and Emotional Overload

If you’re keeping up on the outside but feeling worn down inside, you’re not alone. Over time, stress takes a toll, and your body starts to carry the weight in ways you can’t ignore.

Maybe you feel tense, restless, or shut down, like your system is always on edge. You might snap without meaning to, pull away when you want closeness, or find yourself running on empty no matter how much you try to rest.

I work with adults in Fort Lauderdale who are tired of powering through and ready for something more supportive. Somatic therapy helps you slow down, listen to what your body is trying to say, and respond in ways that bring relief, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection.

When the Usual Strategies Aren’t Enough

You’ve been doing your best to stay balanced—maybe with breathing, stretching, journaling, or trying to keep things in perspective. And sometimes those things help. But if the stress keeps returning, or your body still feels tense and on edge, it might be time for something deeper.

Somatic therapy helps you notice how stress is showing up in your body and gently shift the patterns that are keeping you stuck. It’s a slower, more connected kind of work—one that meets you where you are.

Over time, you might find it easier to:

  • Move out of survival mode instead of forcing yourself to keep going

  • Notice what your body needs and follow through

  • Let go of built-up tension and looping thoughts

  • Feel more clear and steady—even when life is full

This kind of support gives your body and mind space to recalibrate, so you can move through life with more clarity and a stronger sense of who you are.

Fort Lauderdale Mind-Body Therapist

Hi, I’m Amy.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), offering online therapy for adults in Fort Lauderdale and throughout Florida.

I work with people who are used to handling a lot—but are starting to feel the cost of always keeping it together. If you’ve been managing, showing up, doing everything you’re supposed to—and still feel disconnected or overwhelmed—I want you to know that it makes sense.

My work focuses on what your nervous system is holding, so you can feel more supported, more at ease in your body, and more connected to yourself.

If you're looking for therapy that includes the body—not just the thoughts—I'm here to support you.

What is Somatic Therapy?

Somatic therapy is a mind-body approach that helps you understand how stress and past experiences are showing up in your body—not just your thoughts. It supports your nervous system by helping you notice what you’re holding onto and creating more space to respond, not just react.

This kind of work can be especially helpful if you:

  • Feel overloaded or disconnected, even when things seem fine from the outside

  • Shut down, go numb, or feel on edge under pressure

  • Have done talk therapy but still feel like something hasn’t shifted

  • Notice physical signs of stress—like tension, pain, restlessness, or shallow breath

Depending on what your system needs, we might use Somatic Experiencing (SE), the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), or the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) as part of our work together.
